Best Bets For The Horse racing At Chelmsford City Thursday 1st June 2017

I have been on the worst run I have had in the seven years of Triple G! Faint heart never won fair lady though and Ascot is just around the corner. Essex is bathed in sunshine today and what better reason to get out there, place a few bets, nick a few quid and enjoy yourself? They race at Chelmsford City this evening and there is a bet or two to be had.

They have a couple of Arab races early doors but the first Thoroughbred race is is at 6.10 and jolly Emilia James is fancied to get punters off to a winning start. Second on debut the chestnut filly won her maiden in taking style on her second outing before she copped for a terrible draw at Chester and that run can be ignored; in fact she did well to get fourth! She is short at 11-8 if she brings her Beverley form she wins.

At 7.40 they line-up for the Totetrifecta At Totesport.com Fillies' Handicap. Spatial was a bit of a disappointment in the G.1 Fillies' Mile at Newmarket when last seen in October behind Rhododendron but had shown more than a bit of ability prior to that and off a handicap mark of 96 should be too good for this line-up. It is assumed the Sir Michael Stoute trained filly is fully wound up after her winter break she has to be backed at 15-8 with Betfred. Surely  Pattern class assignments await later in the season.

The Maiden Stakes at 8.10 is the sort of race I often ignore but it is hard to ignore the chances of Top Mission. Knocking on the door in three races, two at HQ and one at Newbury he can surely break his duck in this. The Godolphin son of Dubawi trained by Saeed bin Suroor must be fairly well thought of as the Godolphin boys often send their better untried ones to HQ and/or Newbury early in their careers. The colt has the cheekpieces applied this evening and looks as good a good thing as you can get in a maiden. Grab the 10-11.

None of the prices will make us rich quick but there is a little evening Patent to be had if you wish.

Be lucky
