Best Bet For The Prix de Diane at Chantilly Sunday 18th June

It’s very much the calm before the storm this weekend with my thoughts mainly about next week and the Royal meeting truth be told; the site will naturally be updated daily with all the news and of course bets for the week.

I wrote on the site earlier this week that Dutch Connection could make his seasonal reappearance in the Listed Best Western Hotels Ganton Stakes at York but he won’t be lining up. On Sunday we do have the Prix de Diane (French Oaks) at Chantilly to enjoy.

Terrakova is without doubt one of the best bred horses in training being by champion sire Galileo and out of Head's great race mare Goldikova, a three-time winner at the Breeders' Cup among many other Group One successes. It is a case of so far so good for the filly having won her maiden on her only start at two before overcoming trouble in running to win a Group Three on her three-year-old bow at Saint-Cloud. She may be as good as connections hoped when they made the mating. John Gosden's Shutter Speed, winner of the Musidora at York last month, is the sole British-trained possible and has obvious claims but a certain little filly named Rhododendron should line-up and this looks perfect for her. My punt in the Guineas and Oaks she came second in both and truth be told 1m2f looks her ideal distance, tapped a bit for toe in the Guineas she looked the winner of the Oaks before the stamina run out at the furlong pole. I grabbed the 9-4 with Hills today (Thursday) at declaration time.

Be lucky
