Best bet for the horseracing Wednesday 30th December 2020
I was somewhat disappointed with the bet yesterday but faint heart never won fair lady and all that and I am in again this evening, this time at Wolverhampton.
Mark Johnston sends Streak Lightning for the one-mile-half-a-furlong Bombardier Handicap at 6.10. Having won his first two starts the chestnut gelding perhaps didn't progress as might have been expected and he has undergone wind surgery. He did win what turned out to be a fair maiden form wise very impressively here over track and trip on his debut, leading pretty much every yard before going clear; a similar performance here would do the trick. Stall three gives him every chance of grabbing the lead and Richard Kingscote in the saddle knows this track as well as anyone. I have the 11-2 about him getting back to winning ways.
