Best bet for the horseracing Sunday 19th November

No rest for the wicked this weekend as we have Day Three of the November Meeting on Sunday.

Best bet for the horseracing at Cheltenham

The Grade Two two-mile Shloer Chase at 2.55 is the race of the day even if it is a somewhat disappointingly small field. Jonbon is odds-on and the seven-year-old looks likely to be ranked around the very best over two-miles in the coming months. The only defeat last season came when second in the G.1 Arkle here at the Festival and it is perhaps a concern for odds-on backers that he wasn’t at his best round here. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he won but I am going to take him on. Edwardstone is no mug and though his season was a bit of a disappointment after winning the G.1 Tingle Creek last year can’t be taken lightly. That said I would need to see some of the sparkle from his Novice campaign of 21/22 returning before I would back him. Editeur Du Gite is a decent sort but looks up against it in this line-up. Nube Negra is a frustrating type but has won this twice and goes well fresh so I have an inkling this might simply be the time of year to catch him. His trainer said in a recent season preview “He won the Shloer the last two years and that is very much the plan to get him ready for that. He is a great horse first time out, and is best when fresh.” At the prices I am prepared to take a chance on the nine-year-old and have a bit of the 11-1

Be lucky
