Best bet for the horse racing Wednesday 4th December

A lack of anything that exciting on the track and the fact I have been somewhat under the weather for three days it has been a very quiet start to the week for me.

It is one of my favourite meetings of the year at the weekend the Tingle Creek down at Sandown and all being well I will be match fit by then as I and the usual suspects make the annual pilgrimage. I will deal with that meeting later in the week and the big race looks like being a cracking renewal.

Today's meeting at Ludlow has been cancelled because of frost – the British winter strikes again. They do race at Lingfield Park on the Polytrack and I fancy one. Charlie Appleby sends Late Romance a Dubawi filly to make her debut in the one-mile Ladbrokes Home Of The Odds Boost EBF Fillies' Novice Stakes at 2.50. A 500,000 Guineas yearling she is out of G.1 winner Voleuse De Coeurs, the stable has been banging in the two-year-old winners and you would expect her to be more than capable of winning a race like this. I have a bit of the 7-4 early.

Be lucky
