Best bet for the horse racing Wednesday 3rd July

No good on Tuesday but we go again on Wednesday.

The yard of James Tate has been in fair form of late and he knows how to get one ready. He sends Tribal Warrior up to Musselburgh for the 7f ROA Rewards Members Handicap at 3.30 on Wednesday and the 4yo colt caught my eye in the entries. A track and trip winner last season he hasn’t been seen since finishing fourth at HQ in June last year. That lay-off means you do of course have to take a leap of faith on his fitness but the fact connections have sent him north of the border, Tate sends very few the 355 miles up the A1, suggests they fancy their chances. The colt was basically progressive throughout his 3yo campaign so my fingers are crossed he is fully revved up to go on his seasonal debut and that there is a bit more improvement to come yet. He likes to be held up and with front running types Raselasad, Parys Mountain and How Bizarre in the line-up he should get a tow into the race and hopefully pick then them off as they all fade out of contention. William Hills went 7-2 early and I have that BPG.

Be lucky
