Best bet for the horse racing Wednesday 2nd February

Two for me on Wednesday, one over the sticks and one on the All-Weather.

Best bet for the horse racing at Exeter

I have Hope You Do in the 'tracker' the five-year-old gelding trained by Philip Hobbs and owned by J.P. McManus. He perhaps didn’t do what was expected of him last season in three runs after moving into the care of Philip Hobbs from France but put in a decent effort here at Exeter in November and looks to be improving and learning with every run. He goes in the 2m2f Virgin Bet Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle at 1.40 and should be backed at 2-1

Best bet for the horse racing at Kempton Park

I am having a speculative punt on one at Kempton on Wednesday evening in the Fillies' Novice Stakes at 6.00. Under the race conditions the three-year-old fillies without a win get a massive weight edge and I think Gia Darling can take full advantage. A daughter of Churchill she showed enough on debut here over seven furlongs in December to suggest she will win races. The Gosden yard has surprisingly not had a winner yet in 2022 but you know that run won't go on for long. On breeding this trip should be ideal for the filly and at the 7-2 she is well worth a punt in this field carrying 8-9 with probably the biggest danger Queen's Fair having to shoulder 10-0.

Be lucky
