I have often talked of the very simple system of backing Godolphin newcomers when they run at Newmarket, Charlie Appleby especially seems to let his better ones make debut at HQ. Wednesday is two-year-old day at Newmarket as they market it and unsurprisingly there are a couple to take a look at.
New London goes in the 2.40 1m2f Home Of Racing Maiden Stakes but Al Nafir and Delphinius are both in the heat so he doesn't look the first string; take note but don't back today. I tipped Al Nafir, the full-brother to former stable star Ghaiyyath, on his debut when second here earlier this month when he was picked-off in the final furlong of a likely inadequate mile. Compensation awaits and he is the one to be on here at but is odds-on and unbackable as far as I am concerned.
At 4.25 it's the mile Let's Talk About Race Webinar 10th November EBF Future Stayers Novice Stakes. Perseus Way won on debut at Leicester for the Appleby yard and has to be considered despite the penalty he has to carry here for that victory. Lady Hamilton is a Godolphin newbie but in the care of the Gosdens and the filly might ne up against here in with the colts though she is worth noting. Walk Of Stars is the Appleby debutant with super-sub Derby winning jockey Adam Kirby booked to ride. Another son of Dubawi this time out of Sound Reflection. The mare was a good two-year-old filly a few years back that ran in the G.1 Fillies Mile of 2013. She herself is by Street Cry out of Echoes In Eternity suggesting this colt should be more than capable of winning on debut. He is the tentative or speculative if you prefer pick against his experienced stable mate at 8-1.

By Dubawi he is out of Zibelina a decent enough filly in her day that is proving a good broodmare making this one a half-brother to Royal Crusade and full-brother to Royal Fleet and Severnaya; all three winners and 90+ rated. I'll be amazed if this one don't win a race or two and the fact he comes here rather than entries at Chelmsford and Doncaster later in the week suggest he s above average.
