Best bet for the horse racing Wednesday 10th February

A nice winner again yesterday making it two from two so far this week following two out of three at the weekend; hopefully the All-Weather racing Gods will continue to smile on me today.

Best bet for the horse racing at Wolverhampton this evening

The Bombardier 'March To Your Own Drum' Handicap over 7f at 6.15 up at Wolverhampton is the race of the day. Tranchee will be a warm order but is climbing the weights, is up another 4lb for his victory in a 6f heat at Kempton 35 days ago, and as good as his form is you have to wonder whether the handicapper has him now off a mark of 102. Beat Le Bon drops back to handicap company making his debut on the surface and is perhaps best watched for now having not run since August plus a mark of 109 would need a career best from the five-year-old. So with those two with with questions to answer it looks a race for a potential upset. Lord Of The Lodge looks nailed-on to lead but the trip is the question for him; led for a long way in the 7f G.3 Jersey Stakes in the summer at Ascot before being hauled in and then finished down the field in the G.1 July Cup, again was prominent for a long way. He was also second in the G.2 Gimcrack Stakes as a two-year-old so has some decent form in the book. Ran here in December over six, again leading before being picked up, but probably needed that run after 6 months off. I think he may get an uncontested lead tonight and might, just might, slip the field with none of the others front-running types; that would be my tactics anyway. The yard of Karl Burke is in fine form and at 13-2 a chance is taken that the four-year-old can nick this; I might be doing that betting shop lean late on though!

Be lucky
