A nice winner on Monday to start the week in the shape of True Accolade at Windsor. Pontefract is not a track I bet at often but I fancy one up in West Yorkshire on Tuesday afternoon.
Best bet for the horse racing at Pontefract
John and Thady Gosden send just one up the A1 to Pontefract from Newmarket in the shape of Peter The Great to run in the 1m2f Yorkshire Wonder Horse Search Is On Handicap at 2.40. The son of New Approach won twice as a three-year-old (didn’t run at two) and was fifth in the bet365 Handicap at Newmarket when last seen in July. That race has proved more than decent with six that ran that day winning since including Dubai Honour who went on to win a couple of G.2’s and Foxes Tales who won a G.3. A half-brother to three winners there are some big names in the pedigree; he was bred at famous Hascombe & Valiant Stud by owner Anthony Oppenheimer. Gelded over the winter he is the type to progress and to my eyes he looks a solid bet in this off a mark of 92 which might greatly under estimate him. Get on at 9-4 BPG this morning. There has been some cash for Injazati and the top-weight is feared.
