Best bet for the horse racing Thursday 6th January 2022

I am sticking with the All-Weather action again on Thursday as I fancy one at Chelmsford City.

Best bet for the horse racing at Chelmsford City

Few horses know Chelmsford City as well as Engrave, and it has to be said the grey mare rarely runs a bad race at the track. She’s run here 14 times, winning on five occasions and placing up on another three, her last win over track and trip in December. She has bottom weight to carry in the 1m2f Betsi Handicap at 7.00 off a mark of 67, which she won off here in April 2021. Her draw in ten, though not ideal, isn’t that bad over this trip with a long run to the first turn and she should be able to get a nice prominent plot early with a number of these unlikely to want to lead. I think 10-1 this morning is big and have happily taken that each-way. Pledge Of Honour has tumbled down the handicap and has to be considered off 70 but has just the one career win to his name, albeit off 75, and isn’t one to trust. Light Up Our Stars has been running well at Wolverhampton recently but is creeping back up the handicap whilst Semser won a Hands And Heels Apprentice Handicap at Lingfield last time but it was a messy race with the front pair a country mile in front of the rest of the field and I am not convinced it’s form you can trust.

Be lucky
