Best bet for the horse racing Thursday 3rd September

I don't have many bets at Salisbury but I am on Thursday.  Salisbury Racecourse is apparently one of England’s oldest racecourses, racing having taken place at the picturesque downland course since the 16th century!

Anyhow, Charlie Appleby sends Spring Of Love cross country from Newmarket for the 6f European Bloodstock News EBF "Lochsong" Fillies' Handicap at 3.40. She won on debut at HQ last October over seven furlongs despite greenness and returned to the track as a three-year-old in a 7f Listed event at Haydock in June where she finished down the field. In fairness it all went wrong that day, she clipped heels with another horse, ran somewhat freely and was eased when her chance had clearly gone late on. She was behind a bunch of decent types though, many now rated in the 100’s winning Listed races and running in Group contests, and there is nothing here of that class; if things go more to plan, she could be very well in off a mark of 88. The stiff six here might prove ideal, she is almost guaranteed to have more to come yet, and at 13-2 that is the best on offer overnight as I write she is worth a speculative punt for a Thursday afternoon over in Wiltshire.

Be lucky
