Best bet for the horse racing Thursday 31st March

I am having a bit if a bad run of it this month, my bet earlier this week summing it up with Stormy Ocean in with a great shout into the final furlong at Wolverhampton but ultimately finishing third beaten about half-a-length. I do fancy one at my local track Chelmsford City on Thursday and will be investing; hopefully I can finish the month with a winner at least.

Best bet for the horse racing at Chelmsford City

The horse that jumped off the page at me on Monday in the weeks entries was Blue Trail for the mile Woodford Reserve Cardinal Conditions Stakes (The Road To The Kentucky Derby) at Chelmsford City. I have been following the son of Teofilo in his three-race career, two wins and a second, and I quiet fancy him for this. He is of course closely matched with Harrow and Find on their last run, a nose and a head second and third at Kempton in the 'Road To The Kentucky Derby' Conditions Stakes over a mile, but he is of course the one open to the most improvement and was perhaps still a little green there. I wouldn’t be surprised if positioned a little more prominently here hopefully he will hold off the likely late challenge for Harrow; Andrew Balding has this one entered for the French 2,000 Guineas I noted in the Kingsclere magazine so he clearly rates the colt. I am on the Godolphin colt again at 2-1 BPG this morning with a bit of cash apparently coming for Harrow.

Be lucky
