Best bet for the horse racing Thursday 29th June

I couldn’t be blamed for spending my time licking my wounds following a losing Royal Ascot (it was a shocker for everyone I know) but that hasn’t been the case, it has been a case of simply not fancying much this week. As we head towards the weekend the action certainly improves and I have a number of potential bets in mind for the coming days starting with one at Newmarket. It’s a three-day meeting at HQ on Thursday afternoon, Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.

Best bet for the horse racing at Newmarket

They race on the July Course at Newmarket on Thursday and there is one lining-up that I have been keeping an eye on without actually putting up as yet. Spring Dawn arrives for the 7f It's Racing Staff Week Fillies' Novice Stakes at 3.45 with two little ducks next to her name having been second at HQ in April and May, both those runs on the Rowley Mile course whereas this of course will be up the Bunbury mile course. I am not convinced this is the strongest Novice Stakes you’ll see at HQ all summer and she should prove too good for this line-up. I know the yard of Charlie Appleby had a bit of a shocker at Royal Ascot but they won't be under a cloud for long at Moulton Paddocks you can be sure of that. I am on overnight at 5-4.
