Best bet for the horse racing Thursday 29th April

It does feel a little like the calm before the storm at the moment with the big meeting at Newmarket this weekend. That said, following a nice winner Wednesday, there is one out at my local track on Thursday that should be backed.

Best bet for the horse racing at Chelmsford City

Yes I know it's Godolphin again, but I have been following this one and it owes me!
Charlie Appleby trained Local Law ran three times as a two-year-old finishing 4th, 2nd and 3rd, I tipped him each time.  He was pretty green when fourth over a mile in a novice stakes at Newmarket in August 2020 and was much improved when second of eleven in a mile maiden at Kempton the following month. He signed off his two-year-old season with a fair effort when third of eight at Nottingham again over eight furlongs. He takes a huge step-up in distance in the 1m6f  Example At Chelmsford City 14th August Handicap at Chelmsford due off at 5.40. He gets a bundle of weight from the other two here in the handicap and this might prove to be the type of test he requires; half-brother Loxley won over a mile-and-a-half. He has been beaten by the likes of Uncle Bryn and Megallan so it's hardly bad form and to my old eyes ran on each occasion as if further would suit. The snips were reached for over the winter so any Classic hopes are long gone and it may prove that staying is his game. I think he is worth a punt at 11-4 in a race like this and that is what I have done.
Be lucky
