Best bet for the horse racing from Kempton on Wednesday 2nd October

I mentioned on Monday that I had a couple of potential punts planned for this week prior to the big meeting in France on Sunday and the one I fancied for Wednesday does run.

Ya Hayati makes his debut for the yard of Charlie Appleby in the one-mile 32Red Casino EBF Novice Stakes at 6.10 over at Kempton on Wednesday evening. This looks like a competitive novice event on paper with 14 lining-up but the Godolphin colt might be something a little bit special. He is by Dubawi out of a Godolphin owned mare Wedding Toast who was a multiple winner in the States during her career whilst trained by Kiaran Mclaughlin. She won over 7f a mile and 9f, including two Grade 1 events, this colt is clearly bred to be decent. The yard has a 26% strike-rate with two-year-olds this year and 29% overall strike-rate here at Kempton so the stats look good. They haven’t had a winner for a couple of weeks but they have saddled six seconds so they aren’t exactly out of form as much as out of luck! Hopefully, this one will be ready on his debut. The Bookies seem to agree with me that he might be something good and have taken no chances Paddy Power offering 7-4 best early Tuesday evening.

Of those that have run before none of the form looks brilliant; Stanford for example was third here on debut but four have run from that race since and they haven’t exactly franked the form. Hlaitan has finished fourth and second in his two runs to date, no match for Cherokee Trail on debut, but nothing else he has faced thus far has troubled the judge either.

Be lucky
