Best bet for the horse racing Friday 7th August at Sandown Park

It’s been a long wait to get involved in the horse racing this week. From the somewhat hectic madness that was the nine bets on Saturday last week, spread across Goodwood, Newmarket and Deauville, to now feels like an eternity.

I am having a bet on Friday. Hopefully it will be worth the wait.

Native Tribe looked like being a decent type to follow this season for Charlie Appleby having been runner-up on his racecourse debut at two to Encipher (now rated 98) over 7f at Newbury in July 2019 and then winning over the mile at Sandown in August. Not seen again that year he made his three-year-old reappearance in June when he finished what must have been a disappointing last in a handicap at Newmarket – promptly gelded after! He runs, slightly lighter for the operation, in the 1m2f Cobham Handicap due off at 3.30 at Sandown Friday afternoon. He is surely better than what we saw at HQ a couple of months back and might be in here off a very lenient mark if finding the form, he promised as a two-year-old. By my old favourite Farhh out of French mare Anything Goes, herself very well bred if not top class on the racetrack, you would think he would prove better than his mark of 88. 9-1 is about with Hills on Thursday afternoon and that might prove costly for them.

Be lucky
