Best bet for the horse racing Friday 28th October

I am having a go at the rather dramatically entitled Final Meeting at Newmarket on Friday. It's not the final meeting just the last of the season over Friday and Saturday.

Best bet for the horse racing at Newmarket

Noted in the entries at the start of the week Majestic Pride makes debut for Charlie Appleby in the 7f  British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes  at 1.30. As an Appleby debutant at HQ he has to be backed by me, any regular reader will know my theory, but there is a lot to like about this colt anyway. By Shamardal, the champion two-year-old and French Guineas & Derby winner, he is out of the top-class broodmare Gonbarda making him a half-brother to seven winners including Tripe G favourite Farhh, Racing History, Basem, Dubai Thunder and Last Look that were all 100+ rated. He’ll almost certainly be better for further next year but the soft underhoof autumnal going should prove of little concern, Farhh loved to get his hoof-in, and most of his other siblings have winning form on soft. Get on at 3-1 overnight as I expect this one to get gambled.  James Doyle is in the saddle with William Buick down-under riding at Flemington.
