Best bet for the horse racing Friday 24th November 2023

I mentioned at the start of the week that racing is back in Dubai at Meydan on Friday evenings and I am having a bet out in the United Arab Emirates on Friday evening. The Dubai World Cup on 30th March seems like a long way off but the Dubai Racing Carnival adds a little warmth to the British winter and I enjoy it.

Best bet for the horse racing Meydan

The race of interest to me is the Listed Dubai Creek Mile Stakes at 4.25. It is a bit of a puzzle with a number of these running for the first time in months, not to mention those making debut for new yards or running in Dubai for the first time. Home Brew has a chance on his best form in America but hasn't been seen on track for 14 months so fitness has to be a question mark with that one.  Al Nefud is a track and trip winner but is another coming back off a long layoff. I have taken an each-way chance on Golden Goal at 28-1 with Power; short as 16's with Hills and Bet365. The nine-year-old was running in G.2's at the last three Carnivals, won the G.2 Al Maktoum Challenge R1 over track and trip in 2022, and though perhaps not as good as he was the gelding is actually top-rated and can surely be there or thereabouts. The grey should be prominent from the outset and I just think 28-1 is too big.

Be lucky
