Best bet for the horse racing Friday 24th June

Courageous Knight was pencilled in for a bet Friday, as he was earlier this month at Haydock when second; luckily, I left him alone that day because he was too short. He is odds-on again at Doncaster in the Parliament Square EBF Novice Stakes so a watching brief is advised once more. Light Of Peace was also pencilled in for the Course Fillies' Novice Stakes at Newmarket but she is even shorter!

€2,500,000 yearling Pure Dignity makes her belated debut for the yard of Roger Varian in that race. She is a half-sister to three middle-distance Group winners being out of Stralet’s Sister, including Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Sottass. It will be fascinating to see how she goes but my guess would be she might want further.

I do have one bet though, in the early evening over the Irish Sea at the Curragh so hopefully she may pay for a pint or two Friday night.

Best bet for the horse racing at the Curragh

There is a potential star filly making her racecourse debut over at the Curragh Friday evening in the shape of Dower House in the 5.35 7f Westgrove Hotel Irish EBF Fillies Maiden. A tried and tested mating she is by Galileo out of Meow making her a full-sister to five that have run so far, including champion two-year-old and dual Guineas winner Churchill, G.1 Cheveley Park Stakes winner at two Clemmie and G.3 winner Blenheim Palace. At 7’s overnight she is worth an investment. I know Moore rides stable mate and odds-on jolly Never Ending Story, who was third at the Curragh on debut, but it wouldn’t be the first time Coolmore had a 1-2 with the bigger priced one winning!

Be lucky
