Best bet for the horse racing Friday 17th November

I know it is the big Jumps meeting at Cheltenham and Countryside Day on Friday but my concentration for the afternoon will be on warmer climes.

Best bet for the horse racing in Bahrain Sakhir racecourse

The race of the day is off at 12.05 our time and is the Group Two 1m2f Bahrain International Trophy at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) Sakhir racecourse. The race is growing in stature and I would say it is the strongest field in the five-year history of the race. With the money on offer it is no surprise that there is a few names in the field of fourteen that are instantly recognisable along with a number of trainers you will know well. Point Lonsdale and Above The Curve are over from Ireland and must be shortlisted whilst Israr represents team Gosden and Shadwell. Godolphin have five in the field, spread across three trainers, and clearly fancy taking the significant the pot. Last years winner Dubai Future, Real World, Highland Avenue and Birr Castle are all decent types and could all be in the shake-up but for me there best chance is clear. Nations Pride is one I have tipped on several occasions and the globetrotting multiple Group winner, three times at the top-table, simply has to be backed for me. He has won in the UK, America, Meydan and Canada on turf and Polytrack and the guaranteed faster surface, offically good, will suit him just fine. William Buick has made the trip to ride and  Charlie Appleby said this week “Nations Pride is in great shape and we are very happy with him. He’s had a great season already and it was always our intention to head to Bahrain following his win out in Canada. Stall 12 makes things slightly trickier but he is one of the class horses in the race and looks the worthy favourite." I have a bit of the 7-4 this morning.
Be lucky
