Best bet for the horse racing at Yarmouth Wednesday 9th July

A quiet week thus far for me on the betting front, it warms up from Thursday with the big meeting at HQ, but I have had this one on my mind since the weekend so hopefully, it will prove worth the wait.

The Godolphin owned John Gosden trained Valcartier hasn’t perhaps scaled the heights hoped for after he won on his first run as a 3yo in a maiden at Nottingham back in April 2017. He does though have some half decent form in defeat and I think the 4yo gelding may have been found the ideal opportunity to get back in the winners enclosure in the 1m1f Moulton Nurseries Of Acle Handicap at 3.50 over at Yarmouth. William Buick rides and the blinkers go on for the first time. Having dropped down to a mark of 89 this is a slight drop in class of opposition and I have taken the 7-2 overnight in the hope the first time headgear sees him put his best foot forward. Kaanoon has won two of his three starts to date and is naturally feared but this is a step up in class to anything he has faced thus far.

Be lucky
