Best bet for the horse racing at Sandown Thursday 7th June

There is a nice little meeting at Sandown Park this evening with a six-race card to enjoy, gates open at 4.00 with the first race at 5.55 if you can get down there.

I was all about Godolphin yesterday with a cheeky little double, Burj and Beyond Reason both winning, and it’s the boys in blue for me again today.

I put up the Godolphin colt Ghostwatch when he was third at Chester in the 1m4f English Fine Cottons Handicap. Charlie Appleby sends his charge to Sandown for the 1m6f smarkets.com Young Stayers Handicap due off at 6.25. He looked a little outpaced on the tight bends of Chester and copped for a couple of bumps as well as getting pushed wide so that run can be forgiven. Before that he won over 1m4f at Wolverhampton on his seasonal reappearance taking it up over two out and only being pushed out to in by a deceptive length-and-a-quarter. There is a fair bit of stamina on the Dam side suggesting this trip shouldn’t be beyond him. He was available at 5-2 late on Wednesday evening with Betfair and I grabbed that as I think the Dubawi colt might pay for a beer or two on a Thursday evening.

Be lucky
