Best bet for the horse racing at Sandown Park Thursday 10th August

I mentioned at the start of the week three Godolphin horses running at Kempton Park on Wednesday evening. I tipped all three and it didn't exactly go to plan. Measured Time won but  Classic Encounter and Important Role were green as grass on their debuts; remember the names though.

Following on from that, also on Monday, I mentioned that on Thursday the mile British EBF Maiden Stakes at 6.45 would likely be a race worth a look at. A number of big yards and owners were represented in the entries, we are down to ten runners ultimately, several with six-figure price tags to live up to. Fool's Paradise, Defiance and Stratocracy are the three of the five making their debuts that really catch the eye on pedigrees but this could go to one with experience. State Of Desire is one I have tipped on both starts to date, when third on debut at Yarmouth over six somewhat green then when second at Haydock over seven to his stablemate. As I have said before he is a son of Frankel out of winning mare Desirous and as such a runner for Godolphin with pretty much entirely Juddmonte blood coursing through his veins. A 400,000 Guineas purchase a number of his close relatives were decent two-year-olds not least his Sire Frankel and Grandsire Galileo and Grandsire on the dam side Kingman! I remain convinced he will be pretty decent in time and the colt should make it third time lucky here. I am on overnight at 5-2.

Be lucky
