Best bet for the horse racing at Pontefract Tuesday 9th April

Some nice big fields at Pontefract on Tuesday which is always good to see; that said there are some very tricky races and I, in fact, have had just the one bet.

The race in question is the 2.30 the one-mile ROA Owners' Jackpot Handicap. Jo’s Girl won a handicap over track and trip on her seasonal debut last year in April and Micky Hammond sends his filly again for her first start of the campaign. She has arguably put in all her best performances here and at just 2lb higher in the ratings the 9-2 early with Paddy Power looks a fair price. The filly has undergone wind surgery over the winter and a hood is on for the first time; the yard has been amongst the winners with their runners over the sticks this month.
