With all due respect to the various runners today it is pretty average fair and little sets the pulse racing but I am having a little go in the Lookers Handicap at Newcastle this evening at 8.15. Pouvoir Magique will be the favourite and the John Gosden inmate does look on the upgrade but he is up another 6lb for his last win and may be vulnerable to one lower down the weights here. Oud Metha Bridge gets in off 84 with Shelley Birkett taking off another 3lb and the chestnut gelding has won over C&D. Form this year since moving to yard of Julia Feilden reads 2, 1, 2, 2, 3 and at 20-1 he is an optimistic each-way punt who might just take this if the short-priced jolly is found wanting. He can do it from the front or being held-up so his apprentice jockey can ride the race to suit how the cards fall.
