Best bet for the horse racing at Kempton Park Wednesday 13th January
I can't post without mentioning the news that leading owner and breeder Khalid Abdullah has passed away at the age of 83. He had some outstanding horses in his time including Dancing Brave, Enable and of course Frankel. It was announced on the Juddmonte website: It is with great sadness that Juddmonte announces the death of His Highness Prince Khalid bin Abdullah. He died peacefully on Tuesday 12th January 2021.
I give one a chance on the card at Kempton on Wednesday evening in the 7.20 the 1m4f Try Our New Price Boosts At Unibet Handicap, and it's available at a decent price. Be Fair has two track and trip wins to his name, the last off a mark of 65 in March; the five-year-old gelding has 69 here but Mollie Phillips takes off 7lb. Having been tried over further and Hurdles in his last three starts a return to this distance down at Sunbury-on-Thames and the Polytrack (has also won on the surface at Lingfield) may well see him go very close in this. Prices seem to vary wildly but at 12-1 he can be backed each-way with Hills; I am told they were briefly 16's but I never saw that!
