Best bet for the horse racing at Brighton Tuesday 9th July

There is not that much to set the pulse racing early this week but we do have the Newmarket July Festival to look forward to from Thursday. I am having one bet on Tuesday as a Godolphin one caught my eye.

Big City had a couple of entries this week for Saeed bin Suroor and the one he takes up is the 7f J&D Band Novice Stakes at Brighton due off at 6.10. Well beaten on debut at Leicester in May the form of that maiden has worked out well with three winners coming out of the race and the winner Platinum Star was subsequently 2nd in the Windsor Castle at Ascot. Went in on his second start over 6f on heavy ground at Nottingham and there is every reason to think the colt should progress again. He has to give them all weight but the fact he comes for this rather than a race at Epsom later in the week is seen as significant. Grab a bit of the 3-1 bpg overnight. Third-placed at Nottingham Mensen Ernst re-opposes Big City on better terms today but I am not convinced he can turn the form around so  Governor Of Punjab and World Title who arrive with similar profiles, both also won at the second attempt, are considered the bigger dangers.

Be lucky
