Best bet for the Betway Winter Derby Stakes

I have gone in nice and early for the Group Three Betway Winter Derby Stakes with Lord North confirmed to run in the All-Weather feature race of the weekend at lunchtime today. The moment team Gosden confirmed he would be going to Surrey on Saturday he was odds-on just about everywhere but I have snaffled Evens with William Hill.  Not seen in competitive action since winning the G.1 Dubai Turf on World Cup night at Meydan last March Lord North has run once on the All-Weather, on his second career start back in 2019, winning a two runner race at Newcastle. He is the best horse by some margin officially and if anywhere near his best he should win hard held. Thady Gosden said on Monday “Lord North obviously been off the track for a long time, so it seems sensible to keep him at home for his first run. The Winter Derby looks a more competitive race than last year, so we shall see what happens. He’s got all the enthusiasm he’s always had and he’s been training well enough at home. We’re very pleased with him really. We’d like to go back to Dubai with him, but we’ve got to get over this hurdle first.”
The Gosdens also have last year’s winner Forest Of Dean and Harrovian in the mix whilst  Alenquer will bid to provide William Haggas with a first victory in the Winter Derby and is on paper probably the danger to the selection.
Be lucky
