Ante-post bet for the Betfair Chase at Haydock

With it being such a slow start to the week with not much to get involved with on the horse racing front my mind has already drifted to the weekend; so much so I have had a bet in the big race on Saturday.

Best bet for the Betfair Chase at Haydock

I have taken the plunge and had a very early punt for the horse racing this weekend in the Grade One 3m1½f Betfair Chase at Haydock due off at 3.00. We all know how much Bristol De Mai loves it round Haydock and he is going for his fourth win in this race. I have a bit of the 100-30 about the grey for this years renewal as of Monday lunchtime. Trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies has already said of his charge “He was here in the summer and he’s been very happy. He’s in great form, I couldn’t be happier really. He’s easy to get fit, that’s the beauty of him and we’re all primed and ready to go. The one year we were second was the year we really struggled, he had lameness problems and he didn’t get there quite 100 per cent.” The trained added “He likes to be able to boss races and it’s a very uncomplicated track, there are two long straights and easy bends – he can just get out there and do his stuff. There’s no races for him at Newbury or places like that but I’m sure he’d be just as good there, he was good around Wetherby. A flat track where he can really boss them seems to suit him.”
I agree and fingers crossed he can lead them a merry dance on Saturday afternoon,
