An early bet for the horse racing this weekend at Cheltenham

I am having my first proper punt for the Jumps season this weekend and I am on nice and early.

The 2m4f Grade Three Paddy Power Gold Cup Handicap Chase is arguably the race of the day on Saturday with some familiar faces due to line-up as you would expect. Third in this last year Al Dancer has a great record fresh and is making his seasonal reappearance; the race last year was his second run of the campaign having won at Newton Abbott in October. He is off a slightly lower mark this season and new trainer Sam Thomas may have plotted this right. He said earlier this week  "He ran well in it last season and he's obviously retained plenty of ability so we thought we'd start off in this and go there fresh. He's been a dream to train and very straightforward. He's a very nice horse to have on the yard and we're very lucky to have him."  I think a big run can be expected from the eight-year-old, so much so I took 8-1 with Paddy power on Thursday lunchtime.
