All Weather Championships Finals Day at Lingfield Park

It’s Good Friday and it is All Weather Championships Finals Day at Lingfield Park this afternoon and I will be having a go in the six Championship races. If you can't get down to Surrey you can watch the six races on ITV4.

The first of the main events is the Betway All-weather Marathon Championships Conditions Stakes at 2.10. Godolphin filly Natural Scenery won a two-mile handicap on the Tapeta at Newcastle last time out and could be well in with only 8-10 to carry here. Seemingly improving for the step-up in trip she has significantly less weight to carry than her main rivals and should be backed at 9-2. Pinzolo has been running well over slightly shorter than the 1m 7f 169Y they face today, including when only beaten a neck in the G.3 Winter Derby.

It’s the ladies at 2.40 for the 32red All-weather Fillies' And Mares' Championships Conditions Stakes. Muffri'Ha is a good mare trained by William Haggas and she has been running well out in Dubai; notably when third to Decorated Knight in the G.1 Jebel Hatta. Won the Listed Fleur De Lys Fillies' Stakes here last back end over a mile and the drop to seven today should not hamper her chances. Get on at 6-4.

The speedsters are out at 3.10 for the Betway All-weather Sprint Championships Conditions Stakes. 2015 winner Pretend is back and at his best would win this renewal. Didn’t get a lot of luck when beaten at a shade odds-on in the Listed event here in February all being well will get the breaks today and should be backed at 5-1.

We have the Sunbets All-weather Mile Championships Conditions Stakes at 3.40. Ennaadd arrives top of the Leaderboard for the Milers and looks capable of more wins at pattern level given the manner of his win in the Listed Hyde Stakes at Kempton last November when last seen. Has been off for 149 days but aimed at this and you can be sure the colt is primed and ready to go. Roger Varian said earlier this week "He's a smart horse, he's proven that. Although he's lightly raced, he's got very strong form. He's a highly-rated horse and I hope he can go on to Group level on the turf. But he qualified for Lingfield on Good Friday and it's all systems go for there. He's got plenty of class and he can go well off a layoff. We're very excited about running him. He's had a good winter and he's been trained for the day." Take the 6-4

The 4.10 is the 32red Three Year Old All-weather Championships Conditions Stakes. Second Thought has had the better of Sutter County twice in the build-up to this but I think both might be playing for the minor honours here as chestnut filly Dubai One catches the eye. She doesn’t have the best of draws but is improving, gets the filly allowance, and at 5-1 with Power is the far more attractive price.

The lucky last is the Betway Easter Classic All-weather Middle Distance Championships Conditions Stakes. Convey got up passed those who were ridden prominently in the Winter Derby last time over track and trip. Absolute Blast was third (the mare is slightly better off at the weights today) with Battalion and Grendisar, who are perhaps not as good as they were, further back.  Its is hard to see past the Sir Michael Stoute trained gelding as he appeared to appreciate that first try at 1m2f and should only get better. Grab the 2-1.

As is the case there is a plethora of racing over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Be lucky
