A look at the horse racing week ahead

As we head into lockdown part-two we might not be able to meet up down the boozer but we can at least look forward to some cracking horse racing.

Set your alarm for the wee small hours, four o'clock in the morning to be precise, on Tuesday if you fancy watching the Group One Lexus Melbourne Cup at Flemington live. I can’t say I have a strong fancy; Anthony Van Dyck is on my mind but the trip is an unknown and he has top-weight to carry; I haven’t had a bet yet and if I do it will be put-up on here.

As for the rest of the week horse racing builds to a crescendo this week with the Breeders Cup weekend at Keeneland over the pond in the USA. I know it aint for everyone but I really enjoy it even the slightly over the top razzamatazz of it all. Keep your eye on the dedicated page http://www.girdysgeegees.com/breeders-cup-2020-keeneland for all the news and of course the tips.

It is also the last day of Flat turf racing in the UK on Saturday at Doncaster with a couple of Listed heats whilst Wincanton hosts a couple of Grade Two races over the jumps.

Loxley, one I have backed previously, goes at Kempton today in the Listed heat there but I can’t back him after a terrible run at HQ in September and he is best watched for now.
