A look ahead to the BetVictor Gold Cup at Cheltenham Saturday
I was planning on having a punt in the Listed 2m1½f Masterstroke & Scalo Yorton Stallions Mares' Novices' Chase at Bangor-On-Dee Wednesday but the horse I wanted to punt does not run! That leaves me looking at the meeting at Cheltenham now until I have a bet this week.
Looking ahead to the November Meeting, Enda Bolger has described Friday’s Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap Chase as a “fact-finding mission” for Grade one winning hurdler Yanworth.
Punters have been backing Slate House for the G.3 BetVictor Gold Cup with some confidence and he is now the favourite to win the big Handicap at the weekend. He has undergone a second wind operation during a seven-month break since being beaten over 40-lengths in the Arkle last March. He looked pretty damn good last month winning a Novice Chase impressively in the heavy ground over track and trip and he could have significantly more to come yet and might well leave his current mark of 147 well behind over the coming months. They seem very happy with him down at Venn Farm and I have taken a chance early on him at the 11-2 that is about for the big on Saturday.
Be lucky
