Doncaster & Curragh Under Consideration For Expert Eye

Connections of ante-post Qipco 2000 Guineas favourite Expert Eye are weighing up an outing in the Goffs Vincent O'Brien National Stakes at the Curragh.

The seven-furlong Group One prize is one of two options, along with the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster, under consideration for the Sir Michael Stoute trained two-year-old. After making a winning debut at Newbury, the son of Acclamation shot to the head of the betting for next year's colts' Classic at Newmarket with a stylish success in the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood last week.

Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah, said: "It was a very good performance and the form of his Newbury maiden has worked out well as he had the Richmond winner (Barraquero) behind him that day and that gives us encouragement. It is not Sir Michael's way to do too much too soon and it has worked out. The National Stakes and the Champagne are still both under consideration. I doubt he will get much further than a mile, but I think that will emerge to be the right distance for him given the way he won on Tuesday."
