Another very slow start to the week for me with no bets until now. It’s a fair meeting at Haydock on Thursday and there are two to be backed there.
Best bets for the horse racing at Haydock
New Kingdom lines-up for the 3.15 the mile I tipped him on debut when fifth at Newbury over 7f looking as if a little further would help. As I said then, a son of Dubawi out of winning mare Provenance (Galileo) he is a half-brother to decent handicapper (95 rated) Cruyff Turn. Everything in his breeding suggests a mile to a mile-and-a-quarter will be his trip in time and he has some flashy entries for later in the season such as the G.2 Royal Lodge and G.1 Dewhurst Stakes. I am on again at 5-4 which is very short but he should be too good for this line-up.
Al Suhail had a few entries recently, a number somewhat higher up the grades than the 7f British EBF Conditions Stakes he is due to run in at Haydock on Thursday. He looked to be finding his form in the G.2 Summer Mile on first start back in the UK in July at Ascot after a winter campaign in Dubai but then was not at his best in the G.2 Hungerford Stakes over 7f next time. He must be frustrating team Godolphin a bit at the moment as clearly bigger things were expected of the four-year-old this season. Despite the fact he can run the odd stinker if on a going day he’ll win this hard held. Get on at the 11-10 early with Hills.
Another I have talked of and backed before is Valiant Prince who runs at Chelmsford City in the evening but will be very long odds-on in what looks quite simply a confident booster for the gelding as he is surely impossible to oppose on known form.Be lucky
