Best bets for the horse racing this weekend across the globe

It has been a very quiet week for me but there are some races to get involved with this weekend. Last weekend was a frustrating one with three winners but also three placing-up; hopefully this weekend it's all about winners! It's another weekend of fancies across the globe with six bets across four countries over the 48-hours.

Best bets for the horse racing at Newbury

The 5f Play The BetVictor Predictor Now Handicap at 2.25 looks a tricky heat on paper but I think there is one in here that should be backed. The Big Board looks the best chance of the day for Oisin Murphy to ride a winner and should be backed; hopefully his backside aint giving him to much grief today. The four-year-old filly looked to be back to somewhere near her best last time at Ascot and a mark of 84 gives her every chance; has won off as high as 92. I am on at 9-2. Mc Loven will surely lead and the election can slipstream that one before taking over late on.

It didn't go to plan for English Oak in the G.2 Lennox Stakes at Goodwood and it is possible the undulations of Susses didn't suit. Back on a flatter track with wide-open spaces he should go well in the Group Two 7f  BetVictor Hungerford Stakes at 3.35. Kikkuli is the obvious danger but for all the talk about that one he has only won once. The G.1 Prix Jean Prat he was sixth in last time wasn't the best renewal and in fact I would suggest the G.2 Lennox at Goodwood was the better race and as such the Wathnan Racing owned four-year-old arrives with the better form. Hopefully English Oak can prove me right as I have some of the 11-4 early.

It is not often you see William Buick ride for Aidan O'Brien but he does in the 7f British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes at 4.05 on Aftermath. A son of Justify out of the Galileo mare Flying he is an interesting one making debut. Sire needs little introduction as a US Triple Crown winner, the dam never won a race herself but is from a family that have produced lots of 100+ rated winners and her sole foal to date, Wafei (by American Pharoah), is a winner and was second in a fair handicap at Goodwood earlier this month. Drifting a little early I think the money may come for this one late and I am on at 100-30.

Best bet for the horse racing at the Curragh

Triple G member Grosvenor Square runs in the Group Three  1m6f Comer Group International Irish St. Leger Trial Stakes at 4.35. He nearly caused an upset when second in the 1m6f G.2  Curragh Cup last time only run down by Tower Of London late on and a similar positive ride here would surely see him take this. I said at the start of the year the colt might be a St Leger horse in my opinion and he is expected to confirm that here. He is odds-on at 4-6. Ryan Moore is in the Emerald Isle to ride.

Best bet for the horse racing at Saratoga

Charlie Appleby has just onw runner anywhere in the world this weekend, unusual to say the least, and I think the filly in question should be backed; Beautiful Love runs in the Grade Two 1m½f Lake Placid S. Presented By Caesars Sportsbook at 10.04 our time this evening. The filly was runner-up to subsequent G.1 Belmont Oaks and G.2 Saratoga Oaks winner Cinderella’s Dream in the 7f Jumeirah Fillies Classic out at Meydan in February before taking a conditions race over a mile by six lengths later the same month so her form looks rock solid. Charlie Appleby said this week “Beautiful Love has enjoyed a good preparation going into this. She’s drawn out wide and it’s her first experience of racing in North America, so she will be learning on the job. She brings a nice level of form into the race and you would hope that she can run very creditably, especially considering what Cinderella’s Dream has achieved over the summer. We are hoping to use this is a springboard to stepping up in trip, and we might potentially look at the E P Taylor Stakes or Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup afterwards.” No-one has priced-up at the time of writing so get the best price you can when you can.

Best bet for the horse racing at Deauville Sunday

The Group One 6f Sumbe Prix Morny is the race of the day on Sunday out in France at Deauville at 2.50. I am still not completely sold on Whistlejacket and as such I am more than prepared to take him on. Daylight looks the best hope for the home team and Arabian Dusk is a filly with talent but I am on another Wathnan Racing owned one here. Shareholder won the 5f G.2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot, Whistlejacket fourth, and reportedly the unbeaten colt has been aimed at this event. On breeding you'd expect him to get further as he matures and the step-up on trip should suit just fine at this stage of his career. I have some of the 3-1

Be lucky
