Best bet for the horse racing Tuesday 7th June

I said yesterday it was likely to be a quiet week but there is one running on Tuesday that I have been keeping an eye on and  has been backed on his three-year-old seasonal debut.

Best bet for the horse racing at Chelmsford City

I have talked of the Charlie Appleby trained Western Writer on both his starts to date without backing him. He was sixth on debut over a Mile at Chelmsford City when I nearly tipped him but I got that one right leaving him alone as he blew the start and never really got in a blow. The Bookies weren’t taking any chances with the colt on his second start, over a mile again but this time at Kempton, and sent him off odds-on so again I left him alone, as it turned out no bad thing as he was second. He goes again after a few months off, and having been gelded over the winter, in the 6.10 at Chelsmford City the 7f Betsi Maiden Stakes on Tuesday. He drops a furlong for his three-year-old debut and the tongue strap goes on for the first time. Stall fourteen aint great but that said it isn’t a disaster here with the seven-furlong start on a spur meaning there’s around three-furlongs before they hit the bend. There is a fair bot of ‘Dirt’ form in his pedigree so perhaps no surprise he has been kept to synthetics and hopefully it will prove third time lucky for him as I am on at 11-4 this morning.
Be lucky
