Best bet for the horse racing at Lingfield Wednesday 19th December

Quiet start to the week for me, not much to get excited about thus far, but there are two running on Wednesday worth a look.

Two Godolphin horses I have been keeping a quiet eye on had a couple of entries this week and the engagements Saeed bin Suroor and the team have picked for them are both on Wednesday at Lingfield.

The first is Diamond Oasis who rather than running at Wolverhampton on Friday will line-up for the EBF / Ladbrokes Fillies' Novice Stakes at 12.40. Once raced maiden the chestnut filly was down the field in a 5f heat at York in the summer; hampered at the start she wasn’t knocked about by Oisin Murphy when it became obvious things were happening a bit quick for her. Step up in trip should suit being by Iffraaj and out of Belonging who was a French Listed-placed 1m2f winner for Andre Fabre. I have the carpet 3-1.

Stablemate Blue Mountain was also entered at Chelmsford on Thursday but will go in the 7f Ladbrokes Home Of The Odds Boost Nursery Handicap at 1.15. The grey ran green when a nose second in Chester novice on debut back in September 2018; he was then beaten favourite at Kempton on his next two starts. The form of those two starts is not too shabby though and the gelding makes his handicap debut off what looks a fair mark. Being by decent miler Dansili out of multiple G.1 winner Blue Bunting he is certainly bred to be a lot better than this! Bottle 2-1 is available.
