Best bet for the horse racing at Lingfield Park Tuesday 31st December

Annoyingly Prince Of Rome was headed in the shadow of the post on Monday at Lingfield, young Tyler taught a lesson by Hayley; would’ve been a nice 7-1 start to the week. I am concentrating on Lingfield Park again Tuesday on the last day of the year to nick a few quid. Its two quick punts for me at lunchtime with a tenuous nautical theme; hopefully they will pay for a liquid lunch ;o)

The 5f Betway Casino Handicap is due off at midday and I like the look of one here. Man Of The Sea might be thrown in off a mark of 60 though it is hard to know what he was beating in Jersey at Les Landes racetrack but he was definitely in form. The chestnut gelding ran well when third at Bath back in May fading out of contention close home. With a decent break out of stall three he and Ben Curtis might lead this field a merry dance; Hills went 4-1 early overnight.

At 12.35 seven line-up for the one-mile Ladbrokes Where The Nation Plays Nursery. Island Hideaway broke her duck on her fourth start in a maiden over track and trip earlier this month. She had been slowly improving prior to that, was second at Chelmsford in November, and the handicapper may have underrated this one as well on an opening mark of 75. Hills are the only one chalked-up again as I write at 9-4 I am taking a chance there is more to come from this filly yet.

Be lucky
